Abstract
The first examples for the chlorination of allenes using manganese rea gents generated from potassium permanganate and benzyl triethylammoniu m chloride in the presence of the chlorine donors oxalyl chloride or c hlorotrimethylsilane are reported with the aim of developing useful sy nthetic routes to the spongistatin and halomon marine natural products .
