ARBORILLUS-LLIMONAE NOV-GEN-ET-SP, A SYNNEMATOUS LICHENICOLOUS HYPHOMYCETE

Arborillus llimonae, described as a new synnematous hyphomycetous genu s and species, was found on the lichen Diploschistes diacapsis growing on a gypsaceous soil in central Catalonia, Spain. Ecological informat ion is given. The distinctly verrucose, penicillate, monophialidic con idiogenous cells and the catenate, verrucose, ellipsoidal conidia are illustrated with DIC and SEM graphs and compared with those of Doratom yces nanus.
