T. Ohrt et Lh. Thorell, RATINGS OF COGNITIVE DISTORTION IN MAJOR DEPRESSION - CHANGES DURING TREATMENT AND PREDICTION OF OUTCOME, Nordic journal of psychiatry, 52(3), 1998, pp. 239-244
The aim of this study was twofold: to test the state-dependency hypoth
esis by studying changes in ratings of cognitive distortion in relatio
n to treatment response and to investigate the predictive value of rat
ings of cognitive distortion for treatment response. Twenty-six subjec
ts with major depression were assessed with the Swedish versions of th
e Dysfunctional Attitude Scale (DAS) and the Automatic Thought Questio
nnaire (ATQ) before and after a 6-week period of psychopharmacologic t
reatment. The results support state dependency of cognitive distortion
in depression. A predictive value of the cognitive measurements for t
reatment response was not supported.
