Block-copolymers were prepared by direct polycondensation of functiona
l oligomers or by polycondensation of a functional oligomer with the p
recursors of another block. Three series of copolymers were prepared a
nd characterized: poly(polyamide 12-block-copolyether)s, tylene-block-
polyoxyethylene-graft-polyoxyethylene and poly(semi-aromatic polyester
-block-polyoxytetra methylene)s. The functional oligomers and the corr
esponding copoly-condensates were characterized by SEC, infra-red spec
troscopy, mass spectrometry, H-1 and C-13 NMR (solution and solid stat
e). Their thermal properties were analyzed and the extent of the segre
gation in poly(polyester semi-aromatic-block-polyoxytetramethylene) s
was studied through visco-elastic properties.
