The anodic polymerization of aromatic compounds possessing ether and p
olyether functions in their structure leads to organic materials endow
ed with specific complexing properties. One describes the formation of
organic polymers with polyether cavities, the experimental conditions
necessary to obtain such materials, the mode of dedoping by chemical
and electrochemical reagents, the use of those resins as membrane and
ionophoric materials specifically devoted to the extraction of inorgan
ic cations, from aqueous and organic solutions, especially at extremel
y low concentrations.
