ALKALOIDS OF KOPSIA-LAPIDILECTA

From the bark and leaves of Kopsia lapidilecta seven indole alkaloids were isolated. Three are known: venalstonine 1!, lapidilectine A 2!, and lapidilectine B 3!. The other four are new and possess the same skeleton as lapidilectine A 2!; the new alkaloids are isolapidilectin e 4!, lapidilectam 5!, lapidilectinol 6!, and epilapidilectinol 7! . The configuration of C-2 and C-20 of lapidilectine A 2! is revised. All the structures were elucidated chiefly by 2D nmr analysis.
