NUCLEAR-DEPENDENCE IN THE DRELL-YAN TRANSVERSE-MOMENTUM DISTRIBUTION - ART. NO. 036001

We calculate the nuclear enhancement iii the Drell-Yan transverse mome ntum distribution in hadron-nucleus collisions. In terms of the multip le scattering picture, we compute the contributions from double scatte ring. Applying the generalized factorization theorem, we express the n uclear enhancement in terms of twist-4 nuclear parton correlation func tions. Using the known information on these twist-4 parton correlation functions, we estimate the nuclear enhancement for Drell-Yan pairs in the large q(T) region. We also discuss the source of nuclear suppress ion in the small q(T) region. [S0556-2821(98)06913-6].
