M. Marysko et al., MAGNETIC-ANISOTROPY INVESTIGATION IN (210)-ORIENTED BISUBSTITUTED MAGNETIC GARNETS, Physica. B, Condensed matter, 190(2-3), 1993, pp. 190-198
Different methods of describing growth- and stress-induced anisotropy
are analysed. Two-parameter and quadratic models (generally five param
eters) are discussed. A (2 1 0)-oriented epitaxial garnet film was cho
sen as an example of this analysis. Magnetic anisotropy constants were
analyzed using both the traditional FMR technique and a magneto-optic
al anisometer based on the Faraday effect. The two-parameter model tur
ned out to be incorrect for anisotropy description in such films. Obse
rved differences between the experimental values of anisotropy constan
ts from FMR and magneto-optical methods may be connected to magnetostr
iction influence on the resonance frequency.
