Sj. Osborne et al., ANGLE-RESOLVED SPECTATOR DECAY OF VIBRATIONALLY SELECTED C1S(2-SIGMA)(-1)2-PI(1) EXCITED-STATES IN CARBON-MONOXIDE, Journal of electron spectroscopy and related phenomena, 95(1), 1998, pp. 25-36
The decay of the C 1s(2 sigma)(-1) 2 pi(1) (nu' = 0) and (nu' = 1) vib
rationally excited states in CO has been studied, in particular, the s
pectator decay region. The deexcitation spectra of the core-excited st
ates have been recorded with both vibrational and angular resolution i
n order to guide in the assignment of the two-here one-particle (2h1e)
final states. Lifetime vibrational interference (LVI) influences the
spectral features and LVI calculations have been employed to analyze t
he complicated vibrational structure of the overlapping electronic sta
res. Also other states, which have been hitherto unobserved in the dir
ect valence photoelectron spectra, are revealed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Sci
