Abstract
We have synthesized and studied the effects of phosphorothioate (PS) o ligodeoxyribonucleotide (DNA) and oligoribonucleotides (RNA, 2'-O-meth yl-RNA and 2'-5'-RNA) on complement activation and prolongation of act ivated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) in vitro. These results sugg est that a PS-DNA prolongs aPTT, and inhibits complement lysis more th an do the PS-RNA analogs. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights re served.
