A nasopharyngeal polyp was diagnosed in a seven-month-old Chinese shar
pei with a four-month history of labored and stertorous breathing. Th
e polyp was removed through a transpalatal approach following endotrac
heal intubation by pharyngotomy. Age at presentation, presenting signs
, histological appearance of the polyp, and postoperative course for t
he dog were similar to those reported previously for cats with nasopha
ryngeal polyps.
