Abstract
The effects of medium composition and physical factors such as initial pH of the culture medium, temperature and light in growth and pyrethr in production by Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium callus culture were in vestigated. The optimal conditions for callus growth and pyrethrin bio synthesis were found to be MS medium diluted 2 times, initial pH mediu m adjusted to 5.7, daylight as the light source, 60 mu mol . m(-2) s(- 1) for irradiance intensity and 23 degrees C as culture temperature.
