Abstract
Fitch & Denenberg provide excellent evidence for:the existence of dyna mically complex interactions between the structural and functional dev elopment of the nervous system. They are to be congratulated for shovi ng how subtle social variables (e.g., handling) may not only influence hormonal ''cascade effects'' on the developing nervous system, but ma y also alter the structure of brain tissue, such as the corpus callosu m.
