A survey was performed to find in the literature theoretical models su
itable to the description of the triaxial creep behaviour of plain con
crete at high stresses. The considered models are based on the theory
elasto-viscoplasticity with damage and are mainly addressed to the dom
ain of geotechnics. Application of these models to the simulation of e
xperiments turned out to be satisfactory on the whole, although severa
l features of the creep behaviour of the material are not reproduced.
The suggestions given by this preliminary work will be taken into acco
unt in the development of a future model specifically conceived for co
ncrete.
