Mg. Abdelwahed et al., CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL-PROPERTIES OF SOME DIVALENT TRANSITION-METAL LENS WITH ALIZARIN-S, Canadian journal of analytical sciences and spectroscopy, 43(2), 1998, pp. 37-43
Stability constants and related thermodynamic parameters characterizin
g the formation of divalent Mn, Fe, Co, Ni and Cu complexes with aliza
rin S were determined potentiometrically. The results show that the co
mplex formation is an exothermic process. Conductometric and photometr
ic titrations were carried out to illustrate the stoichiometric compos
ition of the complexes formed. The mode of complexation was ascertaine
d by IR spectra. The electrical conductivities of alizarin and its com
plexes were measured in the temperature range 298-400 K. The conductio
n takes place according to the hopping mechanism.
