Abstract
For the simulation of technological and natural processes in specific application domains, efficient calculation software solving differenti al equation systems on grid-based computational models is available, e specially in the area of computer-aided engineering (CAE). To handle a so-called 'multiphysics' problem, for example the fluid flow and meta l forming process in a twin-roll casting arrangement for steel strip p roduction, several calculation systems usually have to be employed in a high-performance computing environment, e.g. on parallel computers. The GRISSLi Coupling Interface is a software tool facilitating the cou pled computation based on the message passing standard MPI. (C) 1998 E lsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
