Abstract
The unevenness of knowledge distribution in modem society has profound social and political implications. Through more careful attention to contextualization, translation, and self-assessment of specialized kno wledge such as science, audiences might be assisted to acquire the typ e of knowledge which is necessary for them to become not just potentia lly informed but actually knowledgeable on such subjects.
