Abstract
Thick-target gamma-ray yields for elements with Z = 3-30 (excluding el ements Z = 10, 18, 21) at C-12 ion energies of 22 and 28 MeV, for elem ents with Z = 3-9 at N-14 ion energy of 28 MeV and at O-16 ion energie s of 28 and 33 MeV have been determined. Tables of the most suitable g amma-ray lines for elemental analysis are given. The general applicabi lity of C-12, N-14 and O-16 ions for prompt gamma-ray spectrometry sim ultaneously with backscattering analyses is discussed. (C) 1998 Elsevi er Science B.V. All rights reserved.
