Abstract
A selective medium consisting of 2% malt extract agar plus rose bengal , streptomycin sulphate, benomyl, and pentachloronitrobenzene was form ulated for studying-effects of Trichoderma spp on Armillaria mellea in a soil substratum. Colony sizes of Trichoderma spp were reduced by 5 to 100% on the medium compared to 22% increase for A. mellea. Variatio n in selectivity of the medium occurred with different concentrations of benomyl and pentachloronitrobenzene as well as with different isola tes of Trichoderma spp from soil.
