Ml. Khodachenko et Vv. Zaitsev, MODELING ENERGETIC PROCESSES IN SOLAR ACTIVE REGIONS TAKING ACCOUNT OF INTERACTION BETWEEN MAGNETIC LOOPS, Astronomy reports, 42(2), 1998, pp. 265-274
In an integrated approach to studying the dynamics and energetics of s
olar and stellar active regions, taking into account their complex sel
f-consistent evolution, the magnetic-field structure in an active regi
on is modelled as an ensemble of current-carrying magnetic loops. Thes
e loops are mutually connected by induction and interact with each oth
er. Each loop is represented by an equivalent electric circuit with va
riable parameters that depend on the shape, size, and location of the
loop in the ensemble, as well as on the plasma parameters in the magne
tic tube. Energetic processes in individual magnetic loops of the ense
mble brought about by changes in the geometrical characteristics of a
single loop are considered. In particular, the ascent of one of the ma
gnetic loops in the group leads to a flarelike heating of some loops,
while certain other loops are cooled.
