Abstract
A simple and direct method is described to construct the traveling wav e solutions to nonlinear evolution equations. Crucial to the method is the assumption that the solutions satisfy an ordinary differential eq uation that can be easily integrated. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our method by applications to many equations with physical interes t as particular examples. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V.
