Abstract
We compare the electronic structures of undoped and Br-doped finitely long single-wall carbon nanotubes. Doping with bromine modifies the el ectronic structure of pure tubes in three ways. The total electronic d ensity shifts from the tubes to the dopant agree with the experimental results, as may open a new way to tuning the quantum-transport and fi eld-emissive properties of carbon nanotubes.
