Abstract
The positive influence of addition elements (V and Nb) on the oxidatio n behaviour of the Nd2Fe14B phase in sintered Nd-Fe-B magnets was quan tified by Mossbauer spectrometry. The dissociation rate of the phase d ecreases in magnets containing corrosion-resistant intragranular preci pitates (V-Fe-B and Nb-Fe-B). The activation energy is comparable for each sample, indicating that the pre-exponential factor of the diffusi vity has a greater influence on the dissociation rate. (C) 1998 Elsevi er Science Ltd.
