Abstract
A 61-year-old man developed a huge fundic varix due to portal hyperten sion in alcoholic liver cirrhosis. After a third injection therapy ses sion with tissue adhesive (Histoacryl(R)) massive hemorrhage developed . Sengstaken (gastric) balloon tamponade failed. Autopsy showed a huge , solid varix with a large hole on its side, inaccessible with the Sen gstaken balloon.
