Abstract
The detection of flaws beside fasteners in aircraft structures is incr easingly becoming an area where HTS SQUIDs can be successfully applied . Here, we present noise measurements of MgO bicrystal SQUIDs obtained in an unshielded environment and with the SQUIDs in motion. We descri be eddy current NDE experiments using these SQUIDs to detect first and second layer flaws in simulated aircraft lap-joint structures. (C) 19 98 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
