Abstract
A new type of rhenium condensed cluster [Re9Se11Br6](2-) has been synt hesized by the reaction of Re3Br9 and PbSe at 550 degrees C and struct urally characterised; the structure of [Re9Se11Br6](2-) contains the b ioctahedral rhenium cluster Re-9 which can be considered as the result of progressive uniaxial condensation of three Re-3 clusters.
