Abstract
Protonation of a ruthenium hydride containing the hemilabile ligand PP h(2)py gave a complex with a three-centre dihydrogen bond (Ru-H...H-Py -2), and this system exhibits a fast proton/hydride interchange and is a very active catalyst for D+-H-2 exchange.
