We present a theory and experimental results for the use of orthodeute
rium to obtain dramatically enhanced NMR signals of the products of de
uteration reactions. Orthodeuterium was enriched in solid nitrogen at
65 K, the deuterations however were carried out at ambient temperature
and pressure. The phenomenon presented should be useful for NMR inves
