Cathodic electrophoretic deposition of diamond particles was performed
on Ni, stainless steel, carbon fibers and felts, Si wafers, SIC and T
iC substrates. Zeta potential measurements were performed and possible
mechanisms of particle charging were discussed. The electrophoretic p
rocess was quantified in experiments performed with Ni substrates. The
possibility of electrophoretic seeding of diamond particles via the c
athodic process has been demonstrated. The deposits were characterized
