Abstract
Studies on macrokinetics pertaining to processes that occur on the por ous carbon cathode in lithium-thionyl chloride cells are reviewed. A v ariety of factors, which affect discharge characteristics of these cel ls, are considered, such as specific surface area of the initial carbo n material, the magnitude and nature of porosity of cathodes, and thei r thickness. Regularities, governing deposition of insoluble products of the reaction in the body of a porous cathode, are discussed.
