Abstract
Essential features of electrochemical intercalation of alkali metal io ns into cathodic materials are discussed. A brief classification of in tercalated cathodic materials (ICM) and the types of their crystalline structures is presented; some properties of ICM are considered. It is shown that ICM may be divided into four groups by the effect of inter calation on their structure.
