Gk. James et al., INVERTED MECKELS-DIVERTICULUM - AN ENTITY SIMULATING AN ILEAL POLYP, The American journal of gastroenterology, 93(9), 1998, pp. 1554-1555
A case of inverted Meckel's diverticulum is described. This presented
as an ileal polyp in an individual with chronic unexplained iron defic
iency anemia. Most prolapsed Meckel's diverticula occur acutely as int
ussusceptions with bowel obstruction and characteristically develop in
childhood. This case therefore represents an unusual surgical problem
in an older individual in which the diagnosis was clinically unexpect
ed. (Am J Gastroenterol 1998;93:1554-1555, (C) 1998 by Am. Coll. of Ga
stroenterology).
