T. Khachaturian et al., GASTRIC XANTHELASMA IN A PATIENT AFTER PARTIAL GASTRECTOMY, The American journal of gastroenterology, 93(9), 1998, pp. 1588-1589
Gastric xanthelasma is a benign condition that must be differentiated
from early carcinoma. The first descriptions of this condition appeare
d in the literature >100 yr ago but, to date, no adequate photographs
of the gross endoscopic appearance have been published. With the hope
of increasing awareness of this condition, we report a case of gastric
xanthelasma in a patient with previous partial gastrectomy and review
the existing literature. We also present photographs with the typical
endoscopic characteristics of the lesion. (Am J Gastroenterol 1998;93
