Abstract
In the past few years, highly sensitive gene reporters have been devel oped for the infectious fungi including gene reporters with altered co don usage. The tools are, therefore, now at hand for functionally char acterizing the promoters of genes regulated by the bud-hypha transitio n, high frequency switching and cues from the cellular environment.
