Abstract
Our understanding of virus-specific CD8(+) T cell responses is current ly being revolutionized by peptide-based assay systems that allow flow cytometric analysis of effector and memory cytotoxic T lymphocyte pop ulations. These techniques are, for the first time, putting the analys is of T-cell-mediated immunity on a quantitative basis.
