Abstract
In order to find a material that can be used as wrapped insulating fil m in the power transformer industry, we have tested polyphenylene sulf one which is film characterized by a high thermal resistance, a high c hemical resistance and an outstanding mechanical strength. The thermal degradation study is of major importance in this application, so ther mal aging test in the presence of silicone oil at 160 degrees C was ca rried out in reactor. Dielectric breakdown, partial discharges, conduc tivity, permittivity and dielectric loss measurement were studied in t he investigation.
