Bs. Khodulev et al., NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF THE CORES OF THE FUEL-ELEMENTS OF INDUSTRIAL URANIUM-GRAPHITE REACTORS, Russian journal of nondestructive testing, 33(12), 1997, pp. 828-837
The results of investigations of the electrical resistance of polycrys
talline uranium and of ultrasonic waves scattered in it are presented.
These serve as a basis for eddy-current and ultrasonic instruments fo
r nondestructive testing employed in Russian enterprises which manufac
ture fuel elements for industrial uranium-graphite nuclear reactors. T
he operating principles and some results obtained with these instrumen
ts are described.
