SHOPPING AT THE CO-OP

A 10-year multi-method, multi-stage investigation of food co-ops docum ented members motives and characteristics, co-op ideology, and the phy sical and social organization of the stores. Although the co-ops were not able to design their own stores, synomorphy between co-op ideology and the physical aspects of the stores was achieved through gradual r enovation of interior and exterior spaces.
