Abstract
In this paper, we propose an experience-based decoupling method for de signing fuzzy logic controllers. Knowledge about the system is utilize d partially by fuzzy rules and partially by the decoupling structure. By introducing a decoupling method, we are able to reduce the number o f rules; by introducing some mediate (state) variables, we are able to use the same set of fuzzy rules for three-stage inverted pendulum and one-stage inverted pendulum.
