Abstract
Several nitrated, chlorinated and brominated poly(acenaphthylene) samp les with different molecular weight and substituent group content have been obtained. Thermal degradation of these samples has been carried out and it can be concluded that thermal stability decreases with incr easing substituent group content, the NO2 group giving rise to least s tability. In all cases thermal stability of these poly(acenaphthylene) derivatives is smaller than that of unmodified poly(acenaphthylene). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Limited. All rights reserved.
