T. Iimori et al., ISOLATION OF SPORES FROM CALLUS-LIKE FRUITING BODIES OF PULP-BLEACHING FUNGI SKB-207 AND SKB-1152 AND THE BLEACHING ACTIVITIES OF ISOLATED STRAINS, Mokuzai Gakkaishi, 44(4), 1998, pp. 287-290
We tried single spores isolation from the callus-like fruiting bodies
of SKB-207 and SKB-1152 which had been isolated from a natural forest
for pulp-bleaching. Moreover the bleaching activities of isolated spor
ous strains were measured. The following resulted. 1) After both strai
ns had been cultured in darkness on potato-dextrose-agar media, the ca
llus-like fruiting bodies were formed easily with culture under indoor
light and the processing of chilling treatment. 2) The difference bet
ween isolated strains was seen in the bleaching activity. Some strains
showed less bleaching activity than did the parent strains and others
had greater activities. Especially, No. 43 strain from SKB-1152 able
to bleach the oxygen-bleached pulp up to 81.2%. We think this spore is
olation method is useful because it can be done easily.
