The photoluminescence spectra at lambda = 500-700 nm and the absorptio
n and the photoluminescence excitation spectra at lambda = 260-600 nm
of Sm3+ isotopic ions in heavy and normal water were studied. The diff
erence in the coefficients of molar extinction (absorption) of Sm-144(
3+) and Sm-154(3+) in D2O and on passing from D2O to H2O were determin
ed. Possible reasons of these effects are discussed.
