Abstract
Mass-spectrometric procedure to determine the nuclide composition of g adolinium and the content and nuclide composition of impurity lanthani des in Gd-153 on a microsample without preliminary chemical separation of the elements was developed. This procedure is based on the new met hod of mass spectrometric analysis and used to analyze Gd-153 at each stage of the process, from the solution of irradiated europium target to the final product. It allows determination of the content and isoto pic composition of lanthanides in the 0.6-mu g sample of Gd-153 with a n accuracy of approximate to 3%. Complete analytical data were obtaine d owing to highly efficient source of ions with ionization in a partia lly closed chamber.
