Abstract
The density of contamination with Sr-90, Cs-137, U, and Pu-239,Pu-240 was determined in the upper layer of the floodland soils near populate d areas along the Techa river. The radionuclide content and density of contamination of the earth area are characterized by large irregulari ty even over the territory of the same populated area. The difference was found between the soil contamination on the right and left banks. The density of soil contamination along the Techa river is compared wi th that due to the South Ural accident and the global radioactive fall out.
