Y. Sadamoto et al., RETROPERITONEAL CASTLEMANS-DISEASE OF THE HYALINE VASCULAR TYPE PRESENTING ARBORIZING CALCIFICATION, Internal medicine, 37(8), 1998, pp. 691-693
Castleman's disease (CD) usually manifests as a solitary mediastinal t
umor and only rarely as an isolated retroperitoneal mass. In the latte
r instances it is difficult to distinguish radiographically from other
retroperitoneal masses. We report a 22-year-old female patient with r
etroperitoneal CD of the hyaline vascular type presenting with arboriz
ing calcification. This characteristic calcification pattern is consid
ered unique to CD, and is useful in diagnosis when present.
