Rk. Gartia et al., ON THE GLOW CURVE SHAPE AND PLATEAU TEST - THE CASE OF NON-1ST-ORDER KINETICS, Physica status solidi. a, Applied research, 138(1), 1993, pp. 319-326
The characteristics of some numerically computed non-first-order (b no
t-equal 1) thermoluminescence (TL) peaks are investigated by studying
the variation of peak temperature (T(m)), peak intensity (I(m)), and s
hape factor (mu(g)) as a function of fractional filling (f = n0/N), wh
ere n0 is the number of electrons trapped and N the total number of el
ectron traps present. It is pointed out, that theoretically one will n
ot obtain a good plateau in TL dating involving non-first-order TL pea
ks (especially for b > 1) even after the accepted practice of peak ali
gnment.
