Abstract
Research findings show that many children who experience parental divo rce manifest a variety of short-and long-term adjustment problems. Add itionally, the literature identifies factors such as parental conflict and disruption of daily routines that can exacerbate these problems. However, there are measures parents can take to help their children th rough the often distressing process of parental divorce. In the presen t paper, the empirical literature regarding issues/factors relevant to children's adjustment to divorce is described. Based on the reviewed literature, practical guidelines and suggestions likely to help parent s enhance their children's adjustment are provided.
