Treatment of an extremely hindered 1,3,5-triselena-2,4,6-tristibane de
rivative with excess amount of hexamethylphosphorous triamide in tolue
ne at 130 degrees C resulted in the formation of the first stable sele
nadistibirane derivative as orange crystals. The molecular geometry of
this novel heavy atom-containing three-membered ring system was defin
itively determined by X-ray structural analysis.
