Abstract
[Co(edta)](-) was photochemically synthesized from CoX2 (X=NO3- or OAc -) and L(4)edta (L=H+ or Na+) with a chiral Cu(I) complex, under irrad iation of near UV light (350 - 370 nm), Lambda-[Co(edta)](-) was produ ced in excess (7% e.e.) from Co(OAc)(2) and H(4)edta, while Delta-[Co( edta)](-) was produced in excess (7%e.e.) from Co(OAc)(2) and Na(4)edt a. When CO(NO3)(2) was used, Lambda-[Co(edta)](-) was yielded from eit her H(4)edta or Na(4)edta.
