Abstract
Catalytic epoxidation of olefins by hydrogen peroxide in the presence of an electronegatively-substituted iron porphyrin complex yielded epo xide products in acetonitrile solution. An iron(III) hydroperoxide por phyrin complex was proposed as a reactive intermediate responsible for the olefin epoxidations.
